Get Groovy: Retro Surf Pop from Tennis at The Crocodile

While it’s been great to see the sunshine here in Seattle, one step outside immediately reminds us that it is still winter. While we’re dreaming of wearing shorts and driving with the windows down, the perfect soundtrack is the latest release from Tennis. Their collection of carefree surf-pop ballads remind us of that warm, comfortable feeling you get while laying on the sand with a cold drink at Golden Gardens while your friends play volleyball.

Tennis released a brand new album a couple weeks ago, titled “Cape Dory,” and with Alaina Moore’s silvery vocals and Patrick Riley’s vintage guitar work, this show is a must-see.

Wallpaper + The Dance Party Bring Retro Good Times to Neumos Tonight

It’s not often that we sing Myspace’s praises – seriously, don’t even get us started on the redesign – but on days like today, that ole sinking ship of a social network is just about our best friend. OK, not really but we’d have little chance of finding tonight’s Neumos lineup without it.

Up there with our favorite purveyors of sloppy pop rock BOAT, headliner Wallpaper and featured act The Dance Party rank among some of the least Google-friendly bands to play our lovely city this year.

Incoherent rambling aside, head to Neumos tonight to hear the 80’s-loving The Dance Party and 60’s-loving Wallpaper for the best synth- turned guitar- driven dance party of the week.
