Feel-Good Indie Pop EP Release: Ivan & Alyosha at Columbia City Theater

We first encountered Ivan & Alyosha a couple years ago when they served as openers at a concert at The High Dive. After their set, they handed out free copies of their first EP, The Verse, the Chorus (which you can download for free from their bandcamp page). When we got to the car, we popped in the CD and officially became fans. We’re happy to share that tonight they will be playing a show at the historic Columbia City Theater to celebrate the release of their second EP, Fathers Be Kind.

Ivan & Alyosha craft likeable, listenable indie pop that just feels good. As we mentioned yesterday, several of their songs deal with the tricky theme of faith in a mature, artistic way, just as they handle the themes of relationships, family and politics, and they’ve been getting an overwhelmingly positive response. Seattle Weekly surmised that their biggest single, “Easy to Love,” is a “damn near perfect pop song” and NPR featured it as their Song of the Day in April of 2010. Seattlest referred to I&A as “Seattle’s finest melodic pop duo.”

Help I&A celebrate at Columbia City Theater with Curtains for You and If Bears Were Bees, hosted by our friends at Sound On The Sound.
