Thoreau Would Approve: Solvents Perform Tonight at High Dive

Lots of great artists had wilderness getaways where they could retreat, work on their art form and escape the general hustle and bustle of life. Thoreau had Walden Pond. Kerouac had Big Sur. Who knew Port Townsend, WA, could also be on the list of artistic rural locales?

That’s exactly where Solvents has been crafting their musical masterpieces. Emily Madden’s violin work adds a soft but polished finish to frontman Jarrod Bramson’s gravely vocals. The two met in Port Townsend years ago and have been making music there ever since. Their most recent (and most successful) project is the trio, Solvents. With deep lyrics layered over lilting melodies, Solvents creates a musical dichotomy that you can’t help but enjoy.
