Some think the Americana genre has played out. With local darlings The Head and the Heart and their predecessors, The Fleet Foxes, already at their peak of popularity, local bands in more upbeat genres have risen to the spotlight (think Pickwick and My Goodness). However there is still hope for the Americana movement.
The Washover Fans have a unique brand of acoustic Americana folk, with perfectly pieced-together string arrangements and soulful harmonies. Their music is the perfect soundtrack for a particularly lazy summer day here in Seattle, or for a long road trip to the east side of the state.
Catch The Washover Fans tonight after the sun goes down in Fremont at The High Dive. They are playing with Ole Tinder and The Crying Shame.
