Sunny Surf Rock with Surfer Blood Tonight at Neumos

We’re getting to the point where a lot of the newest and most innovative new breaking bands are younger than we are. As much as we’d like to avoid putting ourselves in the “aging hipsters” category, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed bands like Surfer Blood makes us feel old.

The surf-rock group Surfer Blood are fresh on the scene. We had the treat of seeing them last year at the KEXP secret stage during Bumbershoot. Not only does the group have a lot of spunk, they are amazingly talented. Though their songs have silly titles, like “Slow Jabroni” (not to be confused with their other song, “Fast Jabroni“), the group has some serious chops, despite how young they look.

Plus, as if the music itself wasn’t enticing enough, tonight’s show will benefit YouthCare, a non-profit that supports Seattle’s homeless teen population. We just love it when bands play for a good cause.

8/31 Surfer Blood + guests @ Neumos :: Tickets are $10.77 :: 8:00 PM :: 21+
