Colonies Brings Their Dynamic Indie Rock to Barboza Tonight

Colonies plays the type of music that you might expect from a band growing up listening to some late 90’s bands from just upstate. The band, which hails from Tacoma and Seattle, builds on these subtle touch-points of the earlier work of bands like Death Cab for Cutie and even some aspects of Modest Mouse and layers upon it their penchant for more atmospheric soundscapes. Akin to Seattle’s The Globes and the under-appreciated Elba, Colonies plays the type of sonically rich, deeply textured music that would be right at home with some of your favorite loud-quiet-loud indie bands from the past decades that already take up residence on your iPhone.

Stream their latest album below and head over to Barboza tonight for the live experience.

5/30 Colonies, Makeup Monsters, Slowwave, + Cumulus @ Barboza, Doors at 8 pm, $8 ADV
