With a nightmarish week nearly behind us, here are a few live music options to make the most of your weekend. In addition to the usual fee-upfront venue shows, we recommend spending time checking out KEXP’s Hood to Hood celebration and seeing some great bands at Silver Platters for Record Store Day. Mark your calendars! Just this morning, Sub Pop announced Silver Jubilee, a huge “25th anniversary public display of affection,” will take place July 13, 2013 in Georgetown.

There’s nothing like sunshine and festival announcements to get this city thinking about that season that starts sometime after Independence Day: Seattle Summer! While we don’t quite have the sun yet this morning, we’re happy to report we do have some news on one of Seattle’s best in-city festivals. Capitol Hill Block Party will take place this year from July 26-28.
