With Memorial Day weekend in our rear-view mirror, here are few excellent shows to get you through the week.
No Sasquatch Tickets? Never Fear! Seattle’s Best Shows of the Week [week of 5/20]
We only have to make it through this week before the glorious, long Memorial Day weekend! Three cheers!!!
If you aren’t one of the hoards of concert-goers who will be headed to the Gorge Amphitheater for Sasquatch this coming weekend, you’re in luck! While tons of our favorite bands will be on the eastern side of the Cascades, there are plenty of great bands who will be holding down the fort here in the city this week/weekend.
Best Seattle Shows of the Week [May 13]
While we may have lost the great weather that’s unexpectedly been hanging around well it’s usual summer (read: post-July 4th) appearance, Seattleites can once again look forward to another week of live music acting as that audio version of sunshine. Here’s a look at the best shows of the week ahead. Be sure to check out our calendar for a longer look at our future recommended concerts.
Bumbershoot 2013 Lineup Announced!
Seattle’s Bumbershoot Festival has always been our favorite way to bid adieu to summer. With a variety of outdoor and indoor stages, a great comedy, arts and spoken-word lineup in addition to an increasingly fantastic musical lineup, all in the shadow off the Space Needle, what’s not to love?
Last night, the Bumbershoot crew announced the lineup for this year’s festival, and we couldn’t be more pleased. With some local favorites highlighted alongside some more mainstream all-stars, this year’s Bumbershoot is sure to be another favorite.
In other good news, three-day passes are only $120… that’s only $40 per day to see more music than you probably do all year! We’d say that’s a pretty great deal!
The full lineup is below, and be sure to check out bumbershoot.org for more details.
Kris Orlowski Reaches for Such Great Heights with New Cover
We just got a lovely note from local songsmith, Kris Orlowski, sharing a new cover he did of the much lauded “Such Great Heights” by the Postal Service. His version is ethereal and moving compared to the original quick-tempo, digitized original, and we think you’ll enjoy it.
Check it out below and let us know what you think – did Kris do the song justice?
On a related note, Kris is hitting the road for a quick West Coast tour with Sara Watkins. Be sure to check them out if you’ll be on the road, too!
