Seattle’s Best Shows of the Week [week of 5/6]

You all must have been really good this year, because summer decided to show up early in the Emerald City. Prolonged glimpses of nice weather make us think of happy hours outdoors, dogs wearing sunglasses and extended evening sunlight. It also makes us want to get out and actually do stuff, which appears to be the case for pretty much every other human and non-human Seattle resident. If you want to get out and do stuff with the rest of us, we suggest checking out one (or all) of the below shows this week! Just leave your dog at home.

5/6 (Monday) Cloud Cult, JBM @ Neptune Theatre
Pensive, atmospheric yet intimate folk-tinged acoustic rock from Brooklyn.

5/9 (Thursday) Cerotiny {Album Release Party}, Song Sparrow Research, The Thoughts @ Sunset Tavern
Local orchestral indie pop featuring members of the Seattle Rock Orchestra.

5/11 (Saturday evening) + 5/12 (Sunday matinee) Seattle Rock Orchestra (Beatles) @ Moore
Seattle’s favorite clan of top-notch instrumentalists cover the Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.

5/11 (Saturday) Born Ruffians, Moon King @ Barboza
Canadian four piece with a penchant for mixing Fleet Foxes-esque harmonies with serious pop hooks.

5/12 (Sunday) Kurt Vile & The Violators w/ The Fresh & Onlys @ Neumos
Lo-fi indie pop from Bay Area garage-rock enthusiasts.
